Tuna Burgers In-N-Out Style

These turned out SO good, better than I thought to be honest and will for sure be making again! I took the West Coast's favorite burger and put a pescatarian spin on it using Wild Planet Skipjack Wild Tuna with Dill Pickle. I think the reason why this combo worked so well is because of the high quality tasting tuna that wild planet provides using their pole and line fishing method which is sustainable for our environment + was loaded with extra flavor and chunks of dill pickle. This one is 10/10 a must try!

Ingredients

  • 3 (3oz) cans Wild Planet Skipjack Wild Tuna with Dill Pickle

  • 1 cup Bread Crumbs 

  • 1/2 cup Greek Yogurt

  • 1 Egg 

  • Juice from 1 Lemon 

  • 4 slices of Cheddar Cheese 

  • 8 slices of Tomato

  • 4 chunks of Iceberg Lettuce 

  • 4 Hamburger Buns 

  • Secret Sauce

  • 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt

  • 3 Tbsp Ketchup

  • 1 Tbsp Yellow Mustard 

  • 2 Tbsp Sweet Pickle Relish

  • 1 tsp Coconut Sugar

  • 1 tsp Red Wine Vinegar

  • 1 tsp Salt

Directions

  1. In a medium bowl add in slightly drained tuna, bread crumbs, greek yogurt, egg and lemon juice. Use a fork to flake and combine all the ingredients together.

  2. Separate the tuna mixture into 4 equal parts and form into patty shapes.

  3. Heat 1 Tbsp of extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan over medium to low heat. Add in the patties and cook for 3-4 minutes, flip and repeat. Add on the cheese, allow to melt for 1-2 minutes and then remove the pan from heat but keep the patties in the pan to stay warm and for the cheese to continue melting.

  4. In a small bowl mix together all the ingredients for the secret sauce. Then assemble your burger by starting with a toasted bun, followed by secret sauce, two slices of tomatoes, iceberg lettuce, tuna patty, more secret sauce and the top portion of the toasted bun. Serve immediately and enjoy!
