Kimchi, sesame seeds and red pepper flakes add delicious umami flavor to this sardine rice bowl. It's protein-packed & topped off with a perfectly cooked egg.
Rice of choice
1 (4.4oz) can of Wild Planet Wild Sardines In Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Red pepper chili flakes
Salt & pepper
Prepare rice using package instructions and set aside.
Fry egg sunny side up to runny consistency and set aside.
Scoop some rice in to two individual bowls.
On top of the rice, add kimchi and gently place sardines. The sardines are stored in extra virgin olive oil with aqueous natural smoke, so I decided to enhance the lightly smoked flavor by seasoning the rice bowl with red pepper chili flakes, sesame seeds, paprika, and salt and pepper.
Lastly, top it all off with the fried egg.
