Ingredients

  • 3 Tbsp Butter

  • 1¼ cups Small Potatoes, cleaned and sliced

  • ¾ cup Celery, diced

  • ¾ cup Carrots, sliced

  • 1 small Yellow Onion, diced

  • 4 Garlic Cloves, minced

  • 3 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour

  • 2 cups Stock (vegetable or chicken)

  • 1 cup Whole Milk (or unsweetened plant milk)

  • 2 (5oz) cans Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna (including juice in the can)

  • ¼ cup Fresh Dill, chopped

  • Lemon Zest for garnish

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions

  1. In large pot, melt butter over medium heat

  2. Add celery, onion, and garlic

  3. Sauté for 3 minutes

  4. Add big pinch of salt and pepper

  5. Add sliced potatoes and carrots

  6. Cook for 2 minutes

  7. Sprinkle flour over vegetables

  8. Toss to coat and cook for 2 minutes

  9. Slowly stir in stock, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom

  10. Cover and simmer on medium-low for 15 minutes until vegetables are tender

  11. Stir in milk

  12. Add tuna with its liquid from the can

  13. Gently break tuna into chunks while stirring carefully

  14. Return to low simmer for about 5 minutes to thicken broth and heat tuna through

  15. Remove from heat

  16. Stir in half of the chopped dill

  17. Ladle chowder into bowls

  18. Garnish with lemon zest and remaining fresh dill

  19. Season with additional salt and pepper to taste
