I can’t think of a better way to entertain than with bite-size puff pastry baskets filled with delicious goodies. Taking a staple from the pantry and revamping it is what we are doing today Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna, to create this elegant and easy entertaining appetizer you & your guests will love.

Taking a staple from the pantry and revamping it is what we are doing today Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna, to create this elegant and easy entertaining appetizer you & your guests will love.

Ingredients

    Albacore Tuna Salad with Marinated Onions

  • 3 (5oz) cans Wild Planet Albacore Wild Tuna

  • 1-2 Celery stalks, diced finely

  • 1/4 cup Castelvetrano Olives, chopped

  • 1 tsp Black Sesame seeds

  • Pickled Red Onions

  • Creamy Dill Sauce

  • 1/2 cup Mayonnaise 

  • Juice of 1/2 a Lemon

  • Fresh Dill, chopped (use as much as you like)

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder 

  • Salt & pepper to taste

  • Puff Pastry Assembly

  • 2 sheets of Puff Pastry , thawed

  • 1 Egg

  • 1 tsp Water

  • Pomegranate seeds

Directions

  1. To make the Albacore Tuna Salad: Combine all the ingredients until well incorporated.

  2. To make the Creamy Dill sauce: Mix together all the ingredients until well combined.

  3. Once the tuna salad is mixed, and the dill sauce has been created, combine the tuna salad together with the dill sauce.

  4. To assemble: Roll out pastry sheets, cut into small squares to fit into your muffin tins. You won’t need to cover the entire mold because the pastry will puff up and expand, covering most of the cup.

  5. Make an egg wash: whisk egg with 1 tsp of water. Brush egg wash on the puff pastry sheets.

  6. Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes, or until golden.

  7. When the pastry shells come out of the oven (and while still warm) use the back of a spoon, or a scooper to make a slight dent in the middle. This will ensure room for your filling. 

  8. Once puff pastry has cooled, scoop in tuna salad. Garnish with pomegranate seeds.

  9. Note: This recipe yields 24 tuna pastry cups and can be made a day in advance, but assembled the day of your party.
