I was inspired by the classic French Pissaladière dish to make this pizza with sardines. It is so delicious and perfect for any weeknight meals or lazy weekends. A few tips, you can prepare the caramelized onions ahead of time, and other types of crust works just fine. Just next time you shop, grab a few cans of Wild Planet sardines dipped in extra virgin olive oil. Directions

  1. In a medium pan add olive oil and sliced onions.

  2. Sauté on medium to low heat for about 30 minutes until they caramelize. It can be done ahead of time.

  3. Preheat oven at 425F degrees.

  4. Roll out the pizza dough.

  5. Brush the dough with oil from sardines.

  6. Spread the onion mixture over the pizza.

  7. Arrange the sardines, olives, and sprinkle fresh thyme.

  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes!

  9. Sprinkle sea salt per taste.

  10. Enjoy!
