This Cheesy Tuna Melt Dip is what you need to add to your Sunday football menu! This dip is delicious, nutritious and packed with over 230 grams of protein.
5 (5 oz) cans Wild Planet Skipjack Wild Tuna
1 cup Mayonnaise
4oz Cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 tsp Salt
1/2 tsp Black pepper
1 cup Cheddar, freshly grated
1 cup Mozzarella, freshly grated
Baguette crostini for serving
1 Garlic clove
2 chopped Green Onions (only the green part)
2 Pickles, chopped
1 Tbsp Capers, rinsed
2 Tbsp Red Onion
2 Tbsp Banana peppers
2 tsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tsp Lemon Juice
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Drain Skipjack tuna cans and add them to a skillet along with mayonnaise, cream cheese, salt, and black pepper; top with cheddar and mozzarella and bake on the top rack for about 25 mins or until cheese is bubbly.
In the meantime prepare your toppings by chopping red onion, green onion, pickles, banana peppers and mix with capers, olive oil and lemon juice.
Crostini: toast your bread or grill in skillet until brown on both sides. Cut open garlic clove & rub all over bread.
Top the bubbly tuna melt with the zesty topping, serve with garlic rubbed crostini and enjoy!
