Ingredients

    For the Tuna

  • 2 (5oz) cans Wild Planet Skipjack Wild Tuna

  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1 tsp Gochugaru

  • Zest of 1 Lime
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • 1½ Tbsp Olive Oil
  • For the Salsa Verde

  • 1 Avocado
  • ⅓ cup Cilantro
  • 3 cloves Garlic
  • 1 small White Onion, chopped
  • 1 Jalapeño
  • Juice of 1 Lime
  • ½ tsp Kosher Salt

  • 1½ Tbsp Olive Oil
  • For the Tostadas and Fried Onions

  • Neutral Oil for frying
  • 4 Corn Tortillas
  • 1 small White Onion, thinly sliced
  • Flaky Salt
  • To Serve

  • Crema
  • Fresh Cilantro
  • Lime Wedges

Directions

    For the Tuna

    1. In a medium bowl, break tuna into bite-sized pieces
    2. Toss with salt, gochugaru, lime zest, lime juice, and olive oil
    3. Set aside

    For the Salsa Verde

    1. Add avocado, cilantro, garlic, onion, jalapeño, lime juice, salt, and olive oil to food processor

    2. Blitz until almost smooth and season to taste

    For the Tostadas and Fried Onions

    1. Add oil to come 1½" up sides of medium pan
    2. Heat over medium-high heat
    3. Fry tortillas one or two at a time until golden and crispy, 1-2 minutes per side
    4. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate and season both sides with salt
    5. In same pan, fry sliced onions until browned and crispy, 5-6 minutes
    6. Transfer to paper towel-lined plate with slotted spoon, and season with salt

    To Assemble

    1. Layer crema and salsa verde over tostadas

    2. Divide seasoned tuna over top
    3. Finish with crispy onions and fresh cilantro
    4. Serve with lime wedges
